The very first Friday in December is set aside as a day to celebrate farmers in Ghana , and as such an award scheme is organized to motivate, encourage and appreciate farmers in the year under review. It’s organized at national, Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and district levels. The Assembly being at the District level did the needful to also appreciate farmers within the district. This August celebration took place on the third of December 2021 at Sowatey a community within the district. The Honorable District Chief Executive along with her able District Coordinating Director, the Agriculture Director and most of the management staff in the assembly were there to grace the occasion. Also in attendance was the Honorable member of Parliament for the district, Chiefs and Elders of various communities, assembly members, opinion leaders and farmer whose various activities ensured that the assembly, region and nation as a whole had enough food to sustain us. The D.C.E together with her team presented some items to farmers who excelled in their various capacities to motivate them to do more and also encourage the others to do better come the following year.
